About This Ghost Tour Comparison Site
Washington DC Night Tours is an independent comparison of the city's after-dark tours (see Worth It?). Ratings, review counts and durations are copied from each tour's live booking page, never adjusted.
Why We Built This
washingtondcnighttours.org compares the after-dark side of Washington, DC so visitors can pick the right night out without opening a dozen tabs. Fifteen tours sit in the comparison at any time: four monuments-by-night trolley, bus and walking tours, five ghost walks, two haunted pub crawls, two Potomac cruises and two night bike tours, each shown with its rating, review count, duration and operator. The site does not operate a single tour. There is no booking form here and no money changes hands; reservations happen on the live listing, and the commercial arrangement behind this site is set out at /disclosure/.
Stories Versus History
The history underneath these tours is not invented. The National Mall, the Lincoln Memorial, the Jefferson Memorial and the Exorcist Steps in Georgetown are real, documented places, and guides lead you past sites with genuine pasts. The ghost stories themselves belong to each operator's tour narrative, and this site treats them as claims rather than established fact. So are DC ghost stories real? The streets, the memorials and the graveyard lore are documented; the hauntings are the storytellers' craft.
How Figures Are Handled
Prices shift with the season and the extras you choose, so this site treats every figure as a from-price and defers to the live booking page when the two disagree. Ratings and review totals appear exactly as published. If a listing publishes no price, no number is invented to fill the gap. A walking tour with five reviews shows five, and the 4,198 behind the Monuments by Moonlight trolley are shown in full, because shrinking large counts or inflating small ones would mislead in both directions.
A Desk, Not A Diary
This site works as a comparison desk, not a travel blog. Nothing here is written from firsthand experience of any tour. The details that matter when booking, duration, operator, cancellation terms and current price, are taken from each tour's live listing rather than from memory or marketing. Background on the National Mall memorials, Georgetown's haunted corners and the Potomac cruise scene is checked against official sources, not operator copy. No tour company can buy a higher position or softer wording.
